About the Used Clothes Collection Program
The Used Clothes Collection program addresses one of the most immediate and practical needs of children and families in the Detroit metropolitan area: access to clean, quality clothing. Many children in our community have very few personal belongings. Having appropriate clothing for school, extracurricular activities, job interviews, and everyday life is essential for a child's confidence, comfort, and sense of normalcy.
The L.I.V.E. Outreach understands these challenges because our founder, Malika Williams, lived them. Growing up in the foster care system, Malika experienced firsthand what it means to lack basic necessities. That personal connection drives our commitment to ensuring every child in Detroit has clothing they can feel good about wearing.
We collect gently used clothing from individuals, businesses, and community organizations throughout the Detroit area. All donations are sorted by size, season, and condition to ensure that every item distributed meets our quality standards. We believe that every child deserves clothing that helps them feel confident and cared for.
Who We Serve
This program serves children of all ages, from newborns to young adults, across the Detroit metropolitan area. We also provide clothing to families who may be caring for multiple children and facing financial strain.
